The exhibition places an emphasis on the pivotal role of textile craftsmanship across diverse cultures throughout the annals of human history and their cultural heritage. Ipekel offers a new perspective by blending these works with philosophical teachings stemming from nature. The works in the exhibition represent the three realms of the Tribawana philosophy which are: Micro, Macro and Vivid Cosmos. The works produced in line with this philosophical thought are based on creation incantations from different cultures and they emphasise the bond between nature and mankind. These incantations can deeply affect a society’s belief system, culture, and perspective. These three concepts are used to understand the meaning of the universe and the place of ourselves in these broad yet unified philosophies. It aims an important function in understanding our relationship with the inner and outer universe and in pursuit of inner harmony. These profound fabric painting techniques and approaches of ceramic works welcome us to understand our relationship with nature in a deeper sense, to observe how nature’s creativity reflects us as an indelible part of the cosmos.
